Joshua Ode, Ph.D.

Josh Ode was born and raised in Saginaw, MI and attended Freeland High School where he played basketball, track and soccer. While at Freeland, was a state champion in high jump and received all-state honors in basketball and track and field.  He is currently ranked 4th in MHSAA history for rebounds in a career.  Josh attended Saginaw Valley State University on a full basketball scholarship and was named a 2-time captain during his career.  A graduate of SVSU (BA, 2001), Central Michigan University (MA, 2003), and Michigan State University (Ph.D., 2007), Josh is currently the Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs at SVSU.  He joined the SVSU kinesiology faculty in 2006 and received the House Family Award for Teacher Impact and Franc A. Landee Award for Excellence in Teaching.  Josh and his wife Christina have three children (Tyler, Alesia and Joslyn) and enjoy coaching youth basketball, baseball, softball, and soccer in the community.
