Jeffrey Cottrell has been a lifelong Saginaw resident. While in his youth, he played many sports. He excelled at football and was a decent hurdler as well for the Vikings of Swan Valley. Jeff didn't stay in Saginaw the whole time though, he spent a few years in Mount Pleasant getting a degree from Central Michigan University and graduated in 2003. Over the past few years, he has become involved in football again. He coached at Saginaw High for five years.

As the Multimedia Specialist for the Historical Society of Saginaw County, he regularly helps on the acquistions committee and has prepared the exhibits relating to sports. He has also done an exhibit about football in the county as well.

Jeff is married to Haley Cottrell and they have two daughters. He serves as a member of the Saginaw Downtown Lions Club and was recently the president.
