​Don Cox​ 

Born and raised in Saginaw County, Don attended Saginaw Public Schools through eighth grade before moving to Freeland where he graduated in 1977.   He attended The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale,  earning a degree in photography in 1981.  
Growing up during the period when the Saginaw Recreation Department flourished, Don participated in many sports, winning a city championship in 1970 for 11 and under Butch Softball. 
Don has one son (Brandon) and 28 nieces and nephews. He has helped coach many of their youth teams through the years. 
His love of sports history was passed down from his father James B. Cox and older brothers Ken and Jerry.   His father was a member of the Saints Peter & Paul undefeated and un-scored upon football team in 1937.   His dad helped build the press box at the old SSPP field on Sweet Street. 
Don was employed for many years in photography related businesses and spent 10 years as sports editor for The Township Times.  Since 2017 he has been a professional driver and currently provides transportation for medical appointments. 
He has attended every Hall of Fame banquet and provides photography for our events.  Previously, he has served on the selection committee, new home committee and served as past chairman of banquet advertising.
