Background
Way back in 1883, Saginaw had a base ball team called the 'Old Golds'. The 'Old Golds' were a professional team in the beginning of the sport, they played teams from all over Michigan, including some out of state teams. The Saginaw County Sports Hall of Fame is a sponsor of a new team that plays under the old rules, underhand pitch, no fielder gloves, back then it was a gentleman's game where they would bow to the crowd before batting, the pitcher threw underhand, etc.
The current team played their first game a few weeks ago against Bay City and lost 22-2.
