David A. Helpap

Dave was born December 30, 1941 in Saginaw. He attended Peace Lutheran School first through eighth grades, then attending South Intermediate School for the ninth grade, ultimately graduating in 1959 from Arthur Hill High School.

Dave was a two year letter winner in baseball at Arthur Hill. He started Knothole Baseball in the City of Saginaw in the seven and under league up until Connie Mack, having played for the Standard Cubs, Budd-Eurich and W.L. Case. Dave played softball and basketball in the City of Saginaw and Lutheran Leagues. He attended Ferris Institute, Delta College and Saginaw Business Institute. While at Saginaw Business Institute, Delta College and Saginaw Business Institute. While at Saginaw Business Institute, Dave made the all-state Basketball team in 1962.

Dave received his state certification for court reporting in 1964. He became employed at General Reporting Service in 1964 and is currently President of General Reporting Service, which has offices in Flint, Saginaw and Bay City. Dave is currently on the Board of Directors for the Arthur Hill Letter winners' Association and is currently treasurer for the Saginaw County Sports Hall of Fame. Dave was married to Ruth Bernard August 21, 1965 and has three children, David, Jr., Gregory and Julia.
