*Outstanding basketball and football player at SS Peter & Paul High School (1947-49)

*Attended Michigan State College where he played halfback and linebacker.

*Was a member of Michigan State's 1952 national championship football team

*Longtime football, basketball and track coach at his alma mater, SS. Peter & Paul

*Led SS. Peter & Paul varsity basketball team to the state finals (1977 & 1978)

*Coached Nouvel Catholic Central football team to the Class C state finals (1987), and the track team to the Class C state championship (1989)

*Compiled a 384-226 record in basketball at SS. Peter & Paul and Bay City Central High Schools

*Chalked up more victories than any other football coach in Saginaw County (309-112-4)

*Named to both Michigan football and basketball Coaches Association Hall of Fame

*Named to Saginaw Catholic Hall of Fame in 1986
